Soiryk: Descent to Godhood
#1
This is another poem for the Luderos campaign, a tavern song/tale about the god Soiryk.

The shoulders of a god bowed by the trials of a man,
A fate none could have seen for this young dauntless one,
He strapped a shield to his back and walked across the plain,
To challenge the foul emperor and end his hate filled reign,
He fought his way from town to town across all of Aldan.

Stopped for a night with kind traders travelling in caravan,
The witch was there to aid him and to end him this young man,
The shield that she gave him held power and weight in train,
The shoulders of a god bowed by the trials of a man.

In battle he strode forwards in an army held the van,
Died and rose and died again this protectetor of his men,
Til he met them on the battlefield his love and his pain,
They came to save him and to damn that day in pouring rain,
Only then the price was felt he understood the witch's plan,
The shoulders of a god bowed by the trials of a man.

A nicely written epic for an epic world.

I think it needs a little expansion, but I like it as a start. I am going to write a rather long piece about all three gods before I come back to this though.

Just as long as you don't get carried away and we end up with a pantheon *giggles*
