I remember this bright light.
I was freezing and yet it came.
It was no hope, it was worst, a fight.
When the whistle was blown, I was to blame.

I remember this warm liquid running.
I was hit but my blood was boiling.
It was no hope, it was worst, a shame.

I remember this pain, this blood.
I was no leader, I couldn't prove.
The mud, the dirt, I could handle.

I remember the looks, almost like a flood.
I was a support, they move, I move.
The rifle was lying next to me, I could take the handle.

When the sergeant blew the whistle,
We had to go, we had to deploy.
Everything went well, all clear, like a crystal. 
But then we hit a decoy.

They had from behind, a surprise attack.
 Crossfire, we dropped like flies.
After two hours of hard work, we had to fall back.
I tripped, I hurt my ankle, I couldn't tell lies.

We got crushed because of me.
They said that those things, I see.
I'm a follower, 
not a leader.
