I had a similar experience on the game. There was this female avatar, we almost instantly bonded, had a lot of fun together, shared experiences from our lifes (some things I barely told anyone before), shared pictures (ofc I checked hers with tineye and google, no result) only to find out in the end, that person was a guy and the pictures were of a female frined of his. Had to take a leave from the game to calm down. I felt used, betrayed, mocked...
Having trust issues with new people since then, so thank you very much for that
