as we chatted upon the beach --

yet I had seen flames of romance then

smoldering just out of reach.

I hungered for your tempting courses

but I had lacked precious resources --

Time and Patience. As a chef

without these one would be stone deaf

to scents and flavors intermingling --

this you reminded me to feel

and so appreciate a meal

to leave all of my senses tingling.
