You're one lucky man, to be in such place,

Release your stress hun! Come here hun' let me,
Make you feel better, come on relax take,
Your time while I take, what's in your pocket.

Still fishing for my wallet, heh Cath? Tongue

Sorry dear, I am broke now
Got nothing to pay the bills
I spent it all, I avow...
I have to prepare the thrills

And gifts meant for my lady
I love her so much, you see
And I have to be ready

To entertain her tonight;
All I can spare for you dear,
Is enought to grab a bite
Perhaps, and a mug of beer.

You'll have to make do with this;
I'm off to meet with my miss
And share in our common bliss...

This week has been a roller coaster,
Of happy memories most exciting,
Dynamics shift friends become lovers,
And I float on carried by the flow.

I love you, one said, not now isn't never,
I love you, one said, though I'm not a thief,
I love you, I said, and meant it both times.

Complicated words, scant understanding,
I have had a happy time with you,
I have had a joyous time with you,
I hope you understand I'm happy.

I still smile when you approach though,
Its different from before yet still,
The same in all the ways that matter.

I look forward to the week ahead,
I hunger for our planned discourse,
Its different from before yet still,
The same in all the ways that matter.

The same in all the ways that matter,
Or maybe better,
Don't you think?

Aight, let's give it a shot to Altaria's new genre Smile

That fateful day of last summer
Where I've met thee, by the shore
That night, I can hardly fall slumber
Thinking of thee, that I adore

I can't stop this feeling
Its overflowing
It seeps my inner sanctum from night till morning

Is this happiness
The feeling of merriment
It keeps me restless
Squeezing my heart to torment

Such is known, the fate of meetings
Where there's meetings, there's partings
I'll cherish this jolly encounter
Engraved in this piece, to keep me remember

That Fateful Day of Last Summer

P.S. Now that I take a step back and check before I submit, its more like Love than Happiness. My bad Altaria  Blush

New rules as I wish this fun to continue and no one else is stepping up!

Theme: Covnersation
Style: Free Verse
Twist: Each poem must be written as a reply to the one before (and leave room for someone else to reply)

Well Bansai, it's not like happiness,
And love are unconnected, now
Is it?

I think its fair that love be bound,
In a verse dedicated to joy,
Don't you?

Maybe I'm biased in this, though,
After all I did the same myself,
Happily.

I'm all awash in feelings lately,
A teenage crush,a friend did say,
Maybe?

Still I like to chat, converse,
Even to debate points with friends,
Argue?

Do you know what it means to be,
A learned, joyous, fool?
I do.

Or maybe I don't.
We'll see.

The wise look up and see a storm.
A fool looks up and sees a duckie.

The wise know fully how they got here.
A fool knows only they are lucky.

I falter over blank versus free verses.
You simply write.

A little enlightening is a fine thing.
Except when that isn't right.

Yeah reality sure is tricky
But imagine that you could do
Whatever you wanted to
Would that be fun or healthy

It's like that to keep us sane
To make us fight and rise to the challenge
Of what is mundane
To make us change

What ever it is
What eve it was
It will never be known
Until it's shown

Altaria, I have to agree with you...
Imagination is the proper cure
For Reality, a way to go through
It's tedious and lame mediocrity. Sure,

Life deserves to be lived to the fullest
But daydreams and wishes help facing daily
Ennui and thus renew our interest
In the accomplishment of our goals. We

must balance the one against the other;
Equilibrium is appropriate
Even in this. It is thus mostly fair
And if it helps, indeed, to compensate...

The world of imagination, such a spice of life
A true factum Ivan, for deny I can't
Too much imagination, such toxic of life
Bearing euphoria, that leaves us to ruin

Life's all but a book of puzzles
One must face and struts with dismay
Though deny we may, run we might
Still we need to face em by the end of the day

So dear friends, its fine to indulge
The sweet pleasure imagination can bring
But beware, for too much is
Intoxicating

P.S. Poetry is fuuun!!  Big Grin

Scotch egg curry, ever had it?
No? Well please, just hear me out,
I was skeptical at first too.
Japanese, huh, really this shit?
I was almost ready to shout,
Then I tried it and its true:

Something to write about,
A tasty thing to chew,
Sausage meat wrapping the egg,
Breadcrumb covered without doubt,
All in the syle of katsu,
Quite devoid of nutmeg.

Think I should tell you,
Its no powder keg,
A gentle, mild curry,
With carrots, like a stew,
Good beef not from leg,
Eat it all, hurry.

So, the topic took a definite, culinary twist…
I readily agree with you my friends, food and eating
Are a passion of mine… or should I say, a kind of tryst,
Specially if the meal looks delectably inviting.

Seafood and fish, in particular, holds a special place
In my heart; coming from a small, coastal community,
Where salmon, trout, halibut, winkles and snow crab would grace
Our table. But the most delicious of them all, you see,

Is what we call “éperlan”, a species of smelt native
To my birthplace. Whether smoked or fried in a light batter
Made of flour and spices, a taste most superlative
Graces the palate; my preference goes for the latter.
