i know what vik goes through...see it not always the same for everyone.....it so happens that even when you try to be friendly, majority can sometimes take that as intruding in their fun...which can end up as a sour result, the idea also depends on finding the right crowed....which can be confusing at some times....what i do now (after many bad encounters) is, i first observe the chat...and also people's character, you will find some people like to be very formal when talk, some are straight up forward, some show a sense of understanding...etc etc...and accordingly i try and slowly slip in their convo...and keeping the flow of whatever the topic is....this way i get comfortable with everyone ( hopefully) and be seen as some on just disturbing them...after this i try and PM some or just carry on with the convo...and yeah 50% of times this gives a better result when it comes to socialising lol...well for me it has lol

Yeah, people can be rude. I try to take part in these public and general chats on mainly the beach, those which seem open for anyone to join. But still, hardly said anything and some of them already put me on ignore. On the other hand, this method made me some friends already and most of them seem to just accept me taking part. Just like attending free for all VIP parties, being very interesting with the right crowd. Not all are a great success, though. Some are purely used for the usage of beds and poles, other one hardly visited.

Dark, Vik, and others who think they have it tough, I'm not usually one to get involved in one-upping people, but be thankful you aren't attracting these types of PM's.

And this may surprise some of you, but this sort of conversation isn't even a rare occurrence. Aside from the "want sex" and "gimme ur hrd dik" style PM's, this is all I ever get.

Now, that situation is most unfair...  Sad   Perhaps my former suggestion was flawed and should be reversed; devs and mods should create a secondary avatar (or forum persona) specifically for dev/mod duties, and keep their primary's identity "secret" to enjoy the game in peace...

Honestly, this has me more than a little annoyed Angry  - I'm calling on all my fellow forum-users here; what can we do to make things easier for Vally, Sharp, Emmie and the others? We should pool our ideas on another thread, do something, I don't know...

I'll stop here, because I'm about to grumble and rant in a most unpleasant way.

I always have my DND up, but I shall turn it off for a while, see if I get those questions as well. ^^

I have no intention of 'hiding' when in game or on the forum. I'll be me wherever I am. And it's not so much receiving these kinds of PM's that bothers me, it's that I don't get any others.

For me, just keep questions relating to the forum, on the forum. PM me here if you need to know anything. If you see me in game, I'm just a player, looking to talk to people and seeing if my avatar can get at least a little bit of genuine attention from the ladies. I don't mind talking about the forum, and I sometimes bring it up in the public chat, but I will not be a walking information desk.
