My simulacrum stands here
It says what I cannot say
It speaks without any fear
It takes beatings -- chipped away
So I can fight another day.
If the link to me is cut
I cannot feel its sorrow.
If it is punched in the gut
I might feel it tomorrow
After the time I borrow.
You do what I must not do.
I cannot be so direct
But I always trusted you
And you showed such disrespect
Something I did not expect.
Did you know what you did?
Did you know you would be hated?
Did you expect to be found out?
Did you expect to be a villain?
Did you expect to be a victim?
Did you expect to be called on your hypocrisy?
Did you expect anything at all?
Did you know why you did it?
Do you even care?
You cannot answer.
Your words are like a ghost's.
Wispy and windry and full of air
Not meant for this world.
You are not hated
though your actions are.
You are beyond hate
Beyond this small world.
I can give no love
though you are lovable.
You are far from love
Far from this small small world.

Thanks for the concern, but thankfully, no. This one was sitting on the back-burner for a few months and I figured I might as well finish it now. I was trying to understand someone else's headspace (and no, not anyone here) at the time -- and this was the result: an introspective look at something that went wrong.
The next one will be less of a bummer. I promise. :3
